290 Eliot’s Signature Design Process
Interior Design Services
Every successful design project begins with understanding how you want to live. Before selecting a single finish or furnishing, we take the time to understand your lifestyle, your home's unique character, and your vision for the way you want each space to look, feel, and function. That thoughtful foundation guides every decision we make throughout the project. Our carefully developed process is designed to simplify what can often feel like an overwhelming experience, providing expert guidance, clear communication, and meticulous attention to detail from our first conversation through the final installation. The result is a beautifully cohesive home—and the confidence of knowing every detail has been thoughtfully considered and professionally managed along the way.
Phase 1. Define Your Vision
Every successful project begins with a clear understanding of how you want to live in your home—not just how you want it to look.
Our first meeting takes place in your home, where we'll discuss your completed questionnaire, explore your goals, priorities, and lifestyle, and identify both the opportunities and challenges within your space. Together, we'll define the vision for your project and establish a clear direction before any design decisions are made.
We'll review inspirational images, room layouts, discuss color palettes, furnishings, materials, and architectural details to refine your aesthetic and create a cohesive design direction that feels authentically yours.
If your project includes construction or renovation, we'll provide a high-level overview of the process so you understand what to expect as your project progresses. Our goal is to help you feel informed, prepared and excited about the journey ahead.
By the end of this phase, you'll have a clear vision for your home, confidence in the design direction, and a well-defined roadmap for the next steps.
Phase 2. Bring Your Vision To Life
With a clear vision established, we begin transforming ideas into a thoughtfully curated design that reflects your lifestyle, honors your home's architectural character, and feels uniquely yours.
During this phase, every element is carefully considered—from furnishings, fabrics, lighting, and finishes to architectural details, millwork, and material selections. Each decision is made with intention, creating a timeless, cohesive home that balances beauty, comfort, and everyday livability.
You'll experience the design through carefully curated presentations featuring material samples, finishes, fabrics, and furnishings that allow you to see and feel how every element works together. Floor plans, elevations, and visual presentations help you confidently envision your transformed home before construction or purchasing begins.
Throughout the design process, we'll also discuss the investment associated with each selection, ensuring recommendations remain aligned with your project's scope, priorities, and overall budget.
Phase 3. Managing The Details
With your design plan finalized, we begin coordinating the many details required to bring your project to life. From ordering finishes and furnishings to working alongside your contractor, we carefully manage each step so your project continues to move forward smoothly.
We'll purchase and track approved selections, coordinate deliveries, monitor order status, and proactively address any issues that arise along the way. Our goal is to minimize delays, resolve challenges quickly, and keep your project progressing as seamlessly as possible.
Throughout construction, we work closely with your contractor to ensure the design vision is carried out as intended. We provide detailed design documentation, conduct site visits as needed, answer questions, and help resolve unforeseen conditions that naturally arise during renovation projects.
Behind the scenes, we also manage budgets, organize invoices and documentation, monitor project expenses, and keep you informed with regular updates—allowing you to enjoy the excitement of watching your home come together without feeling responsible for managing every detail yourself.
By the end of this phase, every major element of your project has been thoughtfully coordinated, allowing construction and installation to move forward with clarity and purpose.
