About Cory Simon

Cory inherited an appreciation of beautiful interiors from her mother, who frequently redecorated their family home. Since her mother was skilled in recovering upholstery, things changed often. Cory and her mother share the sentiment that a home should make you happy and serve as a haven from the outside world you love spending time in, where you can replenish your energy and reinvigorate your spirit.

Cory found her love of interior design in a 15-year career in retail merchandising. As a visual merchandising manager, among other positions, she made frequent visits to other stores to teach teams the intricacies of navigating complex design processes and how to create beautiful spaces. Cory took her expertise in space planning, color and textural applications and project management and applied it to residential design, first designing her own home, then consulting on projects for friends and family before she launched 290 Eliot Interiors.

As a visionary and problem solver, Cory listens intently to the needs of her clients so she can transform problem areas into beautiful and practical opportunities to maximize space and realize each client’s dreams of how they want their homes to look, feel and function. She seamlessly blends beautiful elements to form cohesive residential spaces with precision, scale and proportion.

Cory’s signature style is apparent in how she mixes pattern and texture to elevate neutral color palettes, often in transitional, traditional and sophisticated coastal design environments. When she isn’t designing dream homes for her clients, she enjoys traveling to new cities, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

…About 290 Eliot Interiors

“I want my clients’ homes to support the way they want to live their lives, and I focus on creating spaces designed to deepen connections with the people they love,” says Cory.

290 Eliot Interiors is a residential interior design firm in Milton, Massachusetts, serving the Greater Boston area. Led by Principal Interior Designer and owner Cory Simon, the firm specializes in creating highly personal, beautiful and durable living spaces that evoke sophistication and practical beauty while inspiring family connections. Cory’s passion lies in residential design, working with clients who want to design and renovate a few rooms or an entire home.

Well-crafted product selections that stand the test of time

At 290 Eliot Interiors, we choose quality products that are not only comfortable and beautiful but are also durable. We prefer solid wood surfaces to MDF and fabrics and furnishings that can easily be cared for –– so they hold up to small children and pets. Choosing durable products has eased the worries of clients with active children who may have reservations about investing in materials that wear too quickly.

“Cory really helped me create a living room that is both kid-friendly and feels like an adult sanctuary, which I thought was impossible. We now have a great space to entertain friends and family, and it can support the wear and tear of three young children” says Maggie F.

Interior design inspired by architecture

Every home has a soul that needs to be honored during the design process, from the framework to the finishes. The soul of a house should not only be aesthetically pleasing but serve to lift the spirits and stimulate the senses of all who interact in the space. By understanding the structure and character of a house, Cory makes significant selections to complement its history––from the walls, colors, patterns and textural selections to the artwork, furnishings and molding choices.

For example, Colonial interiors are characterized by grand entrance halls, polished wood floors and wainscoting and millwork applications, whereas Cape Cod interior architecture showcases light and airy interiors with muted and soft neutral color palettes and organic elements that inspire a coastal landscape. Whether your home is a Cape, Colonial, bungalow or a contemporary home with traditional details, collaborating with you, Cory decorates and designs your interior to respect your house's architecture and historical period throughout every stage of the design process.
